TWS Joins CheckClear's Endpoint Exchange Network

3/22/2004

CLEARWATER, FL - TWS Systems, Inc., a leader in ATM management and transaction processing solutions for financial institutions and the first company to offer total automation with imaged-ATMs, has signed an agreement with CheckClear LLC, joining its national check image exchange network, Endpoint Exchange.  The agreement creates an end-to-end check truncation solution and positions financial institutions to clear and settle check payments through the exchange of check images, including those captured at the ATM.

"This relationship will put TWS and our clients at the forefront of Check 21 and image exchange," said Milton King, president of TWS.  "Not only will our clients be better prepared for the October full-scale Check 21 implementation, but in some cases they will be able to take advantage of image exchange immediately.  We look forward to a tremendous relationship with Endpoint Exchange."

The Oklahoma City-based Endpoint Exchange Network allows its members to exchange check images between themselves to clear check-based transactions.  The number of financial institutions using the network for live processing is expected to reach more than 5,000 members by year's end.  Endpoint Exchange facilitates a broad membership through an open architecture, utilizing industry standard files and a published Application Program Interface (API).  Communications between members is provided through hardware Virtual Private Network (VPN) tunnels, with full encryption and digital signatures to ensure the highest level of security and data privacy.  Additionally, the Endpoint Exchange Network provides, as a standard feature, image quality assurance testing on 100% of the items presented by members.  The Endpoint Exchange Image Quality Assurance includes tests for both image quality and MICR usability.

TWS, a Microsoft Certified Partner, developed the first feasible system to capture information directly from ATMs and quickly subject it to a fraud detection tool once the ATM accepted the image.  TWS solutions helps financial institutions reduce ATM deposit processing costs and incidents of fraud.  All of the company's products are Check 21 compliant.

"The ability to capture a check image at the ATM significantly enhances a financial institution's efficiency by reducing deposit processing and back office costs," said Mark Craig, General Manager of CheckClear LLC, the owner and operator of the Endpoint Exchange Network.  "TWS and the Endpoint Exchange Network will provide financial institutions around the country with a complementary solution and business strategy that takes maximum advantage of the country's move toward truncation and check image exchange."
